Cleaning

How can I get all the nasty grime stuff out of the small crevices in the slide. I tried using rags and an old toothbrush, but that doesn't really remove the small particles. I'm using Breakfree CLP. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Non-chlorinated brake cleaner is about a million times cheaper to just get the crud blasted out THEN go to the CLP to finish up.

While I prefer a cleaning-only solvent, unlike CLP, try this: use the CLP, or solvent. Let it sit for a while, doing its job. Then, blow it out with the brake cleaner.

im not sure if it will mess anything up as i havent tried it, but a product like castrol super clean or purple stuff and a stiff bristled paint brush, possibly trimmed down to make it stiffer might clean it up.

I was going to suggest the q-tips, but the pipe cleaners sound like a great idea as well.
