Trigger Safety...Tweaked?

Has anyone experimented with clipping a coil or two off the tiny spring that provides resistance to the trigger safety? I dislike the "feel" of this type of split system on the pad of my finger. I don't want to disable it, just make it lighter.

The feel that is offending your finger is likely due to the fact the pivoting trigger safety piece doesn't lay perfectly flat against the trigger body when compressed and the edge feel is annoying.

With Glocks, we routinely take the ege of an X-acto knife and lightly shave the front edge of the trigger safety lever until it lays down smooth and flat when you pull the trigger. Does not affect safety operation, but feels better.

if you really want to lightened up the trigger feel, you shouold be concentrating on the big spring that hold thr trigger itself. find a similar spring with less resistance or poundage or if your really good in tingkering, reduce the amount of coil turn inorder to make the trigger pull more lighter

Clipping springs isn't the right way to soften springs, you use a lighter spring. Lighter springs can be used and are readily available.

You must have a super++ stiff spring. I can't even feel the resistance on mine.

+1 on clipping springs.
If it's that much of a problem call Springfield.

it really easy to say buy this and buy that specially if its available, what if it not available . here, we do our best to make possible on what we have and spring for the hs-xd is really rare. all this talk of making the trigger pull more soft like that of a 1911, is really impossible my friends, different trigger mechanism and design. no amount of trigger weight will do if you cant master trigger control

I think you might have to buy the whole kit for $20, but I think it's a pretty good deal.

He's asking about the spring that pushes the trigger safety out not the trigger spring.
