I have a piece left over!
I sent all the hard parts except for the barrel from my XD-9SC off for hard chroming. I left the slide assembled, but disassembled everything else myself. Everything came back today and I reassembled the gun. And now I have a small roll pin sitting there and have no idea where it's supposed to go.
Here are two pictures so you can get an idea of the size. Help??? ![]() ![]() |

Oh, and by the way; I was DREADING reassembling the magazine catch. Turned out to be no big deal. It did take me a few tries, but I had it together in about five minutes. Maybe I just got lucky though.

Roll pin for the striker in the top of the slide. Look at the top of the slide behind the ejection port and you should see a hole for a roll pin and it goes there.

If your mag release and grip safety work , then my vote is the pin that goes through the ejector to the face of the striker safety lever. Waaay too small to be the firing pin roll pin. Otherwise, I can't think of anything that tiny off the top of my head and without mine infront of me.

that looks like a roll pin, take better pics. no way it is the pin that holds the ejector and tensions the spring.

Yes. It's definitely a roll pin. Upon closer inspection, I'm wondering if the original roll pin broke on disassembly and somehow I got half of it back. The roll pin that retains the striker was the first place I looked, but it's there.

Well shoot. I just examined it more closely and took a few measurements. It is a coiled roll pin instead of the split pin used for the striker retainer. And it's NOT a broken piece. It's 2.5mm in diameter and 8mm long. Ringing any bells here? Not for me. I'm wondering if it might be to another gun and the re-finisher put it in my pile by mistake.
