Grip safety while holstering
Do you keep your hand off the grip safety while holstering?
Was reading a thread elsewhere about Glock ND's while holstering. I carry a fully loaded (is there any other way) 9mm subcompact in a Crossbreed Supertuck concealed holster. Still, when I holster each morning, I keep off the grip safety. I know the odds are very slim, but I think it's possible for my shirt or pants (the top lip of the kydex is about 1/2" below my pant line) to get hung up or for the kydex to warp A LOT and catch the trigger. My hand off the grip ensures there will be no issues. Am I overly cautious and paranoid or is this a smart idea and something you do also? |

Being paranoid is much better than a 9mm hollowpoint in the a$s cheek

I haven't started carrying yet but I definitely will not have my hands on the grip safety when holstering for reasons stated above.
The short of it is... I don't want it in the bum. LOL

Yep. I push on the back of the slide or "beavertail" with just my thumb to seat it in the holster.

Yup. Thumb pushing the back of the slide.
Why have a great safety feature and not use it?

I carry my XD45 Service and when I holster, I keep my last three fingers on the front of the grip and place my thumb on the back of the slide where I can feel the indicator button sticking out and use my thumb to push the firearm into the holster. My index finger is resting along the slide during this process.
