lol, yeah it's very comfortable, i did that about 6 months ago and carry it every day IWB. the edges are pretty smooth, no poking in the side. i used to carry with a hogue grip, but after fondaling my buddies new xd9sc i had forgotten how skinny the grip was. so i gave the grip a little boost

Nice job. Is that using the Dremel abrasive that comes with the polishing kit in a small jar?

thought about that, but not sure if i want to take it that far. i might have to though. i wanted kinda a rough look, but consistent, and so far that consistency has been hard to maintain. but we'll see
Nice pic's!
It reminds me of that SA black chrome 1911 when the light hit's it.
Now I'm thinking about polishing mine.
Have you thought of maybe giving it some DuraCoat Clear to help the maintenance of that finish?

Thanks. that's actually the look i was going for when i started. I probably won't clear coat it, just because i change my mind a lot and might go all the way to a mirror look, but i might after that.

Bring on the rust!!!

Seriously, aren't you afraid of rusting? I know the original finish isn't that protective, but it has to be better than nothing.

You might try some 000 steel wool to even things out and give it a nice buffed look. As far as the rust issue goes take a look at this stuff which they say you can now get at Sears.

yeah, i cleaned out the dimples and then filled them with white out (it's thicker and dries solid), then topped them with flourecent paint (green in the back, orange in the front) with a q-tip. they pop out like the TFOs on my service
