XD-40 Service
I have had my XD-40 Service for about 3 and half years now. I've probably put a few problem free rounds through it over the years. While mechanically it has been perfect I just don't seem to shoot it as well as everyone here does with theirs. I also have a Sig 229 SAS and a Taurus 1911 that I shoot considerably more accurately. Do you think there is a problem with my XD? Would SA consider taking it in and looking at it? I really like it but and finding it harder and harder to keep. While I know it will be completely flawless if something goes bump in the night I'm not as confident I can hit what I need to accurately. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you dryfire with it? Check to see if you're jerking. Have a friend check next range visit. Field strip it and check the barrel. Any irregularities? With you mentioning that you shoot a Sig and Taurus 1911, maybe you just need to put more time in with this setup. Because all setups are different. I own XDs so when I grab a buddy's Sig I need to readjust to make sure that it's where I'm putting it. How are you shooting with it? (low left, left, etc.) We need more details to accurately help out...

Sorry missed typing in my previous post. I have probably put a few thousand rounds through the gun over the years. I assumed I needed more practice until I got my Sig and 1911 which allowed me to shoot accurately. I just field stripped it and didn't notice anything that was out of the ordinary. Also, there is no consistency with where it hits the target...it looks like I shot a shotgun at the target. Could there be something wrong with the barrel that I don't see? This was my first handgun so I really don't want to get rid of it, for sentimental reasons, but it rarely gets shot anymore due to the problems I have.

when the slide is shut does the barrel have any movement? this can cause the barrel someing to rest in a different spot each time and there for moving the POI

I doesn't seem that the barrel moves. Are there just some guns that you can't shoot accurately?
