How do you go about transferring to someone say from another state? I know you just cant goto UPS and ship it can you? Im really new to all this.

Talk to a private gun store owner (or pawn shop) they have likley done transfers before. It usually cost 25 bux on your end and 25 bux on his end to cover the shop owner's time. They will take care of the transfer paperwork and bg checks. Other's here on this board have WAY more experience than I do in this matter and will likley contribute the procedure details.

I know the place by me does FFL transfers for 50. But isnt that just for F2F deals? Could you do a FFL transfer without the person being there? Or do they find an FFL to have the firearm shipped to?

you don't need to be FTF for an FFL to do the transfer. you have to send your gun to the FFL's address, and you can ship by Fedex or USPS (not sure about UPS). they will then do the background check, etc on the buyer and hold it til that's done. around here, there's also a 10-day waiting period. some FFL's prefer that it gets shipped from an FFL, but i *think* that's their own choice.

Im gonna try and see if I can get 400 for it. Its in great condition. Acouple small little scratches on the slide. Nothing really big. Other then thats its perfect. The local gun shop has a consignment deal I found out about tonight. They take it and sell it for you. You work out a price with them you want it sold for and they take 20% as the middle man. Doesnt seem to bad to me.

I paid $425 for a used XD-9 Service model at a local gun shop. It may have had fifty rounds fired through it, if that. I thought that was a pretty good deal.
If you get $400 for it, I'd say go for it. If I lived in New Jersey, I might even buy it from you for that price. -- Frank
