Looking to get another Gun.... Ideas?

I just purchased a XD9 Service and absolutely loving it however my wife unexpectedly fell in love with shooting as well so i wanted to pick up another gun for myself and give her the XD9. I am torn between just getting another XD9 Service because i love it so much or getting a Tactical possibly. I am not a big fan of the Sub-Compact and will not be carrying it at all. It will only be used for fun "shooting range" and home protection. Although i would love to get the 40 or 45 i am hesitant because of the price of ammo and dont see the real benefits of it but im a noob. So i would prefer sticking with a 9mm ... Any other guns that are similar to the XD in style that i should check out or should i stick with the XD9 Service or Tactical? I just dont know enough about them to make an educated decision so i figured who better to ask then all of you.

Thanks!!

1. Yes. Cincinnati PD has the 9mm, and Columbus PD has the .40.
2. Love it.
3.
  • Higher round count
  • lower recoil
  • custom fit/interchangeable back straps
  • parts availability without shipping back to the manufacturer

+1 on the M&P. I had a chance it shoot at in Jarrett's class a few weeks back and really liked how it felt. If you want something different than the XD platform, that's a great choice.

However, I'd check out the XD9Tactical (which is what I have). Shoots even "lighter" than the service due to slide, plus, all the mags work interchangeably, so that when you're practicing or going to compete, you've got a bunch of mags, holders, etc. ready to go. Also same controls, takedown, etc.

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.
