ultrasonic cleaners bad for melonite?
i did a search for any info, but all the threads i found were prices for cleaners. I work in a hospital and have access to a ultrasonic cleaner with hospital grade instrument cleaner. The bottle of the cleaner says safe for metal, but im not sure how it will react with the melonite. has anyone used one on there xd?
i have never done a complete takedown of the gun, only your basic takedown into the 4 major pieces. So is there any extra lubrication that i need to do besides the normal places on the slide edges?. can i place the barrel and guide rod in the cleaner as well. thanks rob Last edited by rob45cal; 09-28-2007 at 04:18 PM. |

I see no reason it would hurt Melonite as it is actually a heat/salt bath treatment and is PART of the metal. It is not a paint type finish.
