Difference between "Black T" and Armory Kote?

As the title says, what's the difference?

Armory Kote is a spray on coating, like duracoat, isn't it? Black T is more of a finish, that bonds to the metal. One is used for deck guns and submersibles by the Navy, one isn't.

I did some research into this when deciding on how to recoat my 1911. Armory Coat is Duracoat, and is a spray on finish. Black T is more of a chemical bonding with the metal and is very very tough.

Walter Birdsong

The man behind Black-T is Walter Birdsong. (601)939-7448. Flowood, MS (suburb of Jackson). His name will probably get more search hits than Black-T. With Black-T they treat every part of the gun. Springs, pins, etc. The coating bonds with the metal. The black may rub off with hard use but the protection remains. They also have a Green-T now, but it's offered only for the outside of guns.

Yep. Black-T is a noticeably superior finish. I had my XD done in it. Highly recommended.

It is very smooth; my mediocre photography does not do it justice!
