All my XDs have trigger jobs from canyon creek. Here's a tactical that I had Rich lighten the slide externally.
![]() I polished the slide on this service, and did the grip chop myself. ![]()

Melt job, grip chop, grip stipple, TFOs, trigger guard rounded, and Melonite refinish. Turned out pretty well.
I did the grip chop by myself, aiformula did the melt job and rounded trigger guard, I did the grip stipple with aiformula's help, and Coal Creek Armory did the Melonite. ![]()

I've added Truglo sights and Duracoat finish from AJames, a trigger job from Canyon Creek, also had him add a little metal to the grip safety.
Then I removed some material from the horn below the slide where it was pounding my thumb. |

I have ordered a 17lb recoil spring and full length guide rod for Miss Ann's 4in XD9. She has a bit of trouble working the slide. My Questionn: is a recoil buffer necesary or advisable and where can one be found? I know that they are used in M-1911 and 2011 franes as well as some Glocks. Any one have any answers?
Spring arrived installed same, it totally jamed up the action. I took 20min to get the the slide off big waste of money don't buy woolf spring and guide rod stick with the factory set up and learn to deal with it. Last edited by FY45680 : 09-26-2007 at 01:29 PM. Reason: New info |

Have her learn to either slingshot it (hold the left hand still, push the gun away to work the slide) - or, work the slide sideways. For most people, it's not goign to be a matter of strength as much as figuring out the physics and using leverage to their advantage. I was cycling the slide 3 days after carpal tunnel surgery - still had the stiches in |
