Unable to field strip the gun - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

The gun operates fine with 400 rounds through it. But i can not take the slide off. No other malfuctions.
any ideas please help.

Make sure the mag is out and the chamber is empty.
Lock the sldie back.
Turn the disassembly lever to the 12:00 position.
Let the slide go forward.
Point the gun slightly down and pull the trigger.
The slide will slide off the frame.

You probably are not pulling the trigger before
you let the slide go forward.

i guess i did not give you enough information
ive tried all of that and it still will not come off
it is a xd40 4"
ive even resorted to using the manual and folowing the pics and instructions - not helping
has anyone herd of a malfunction like this

Just a guess, but.......are you pulling back on the slide?

It comes off to the front.

It did not work.
I guess the gun will need to go to Springfield in order to get fixed.
