I hate to pay too much for anything Maybe the price depends on where you live -- and how much competition there is. I just paid $625 (4") with night sights. We have 3 dealers in town. The others were $599 without night sights and $599 for an "almost new" with night sights.

I am paying over $500 for an XD-9 Tactical, and it is "on sale." They are throwing in an extra mag ($30) and a 1 year range membership ($100). It is part of "Springfield Days" at my local gun shop/indoor range.

Springfield reps are to be on site for the event. But we are only half an hour from Springfield HQ in Geneseo, IL. They are offering the opportunity to "try before you buy" on the range, as long as you buy their ammo. I had already picked out the 9mm Tactical, otherwise I could have had a lot of fun trying the different XD's. I may still try some other models out.

The 9mm is a fair price. If you think about adding shipping, ffl fee you are close to $460. If you buy locally, you'll have to pay local taxes but you'll also get it immediately. Be careful if they start charging you anything else besides tax such as NICS. They should be able to absorb NICS.

Convenience is worth a couple of bucks.

I'd pay that if it included an extra mag an 1 year range membership. I think memberships are cool because you don't feel as obligated to shoot as many rounds each trip to get your money's worth. Unfortunately none of them do that around here.

Thanks!

what store did you go to?
Dont buy anything thing from GUN CITY.

I looked at Gun City and they only had glocks; plus it didn't seem too much on the up and up. I found the above prices at Franklin Gun Shop.

Today I went to Academy of Self Protection to rent some glocks and XDs... Unfortunately they didn't have the subcompacts, but I think I've decided on 9mm over .40. They did have the 4" XDs for about $540.

thats a great price, i paid $530 out the door with NO extras.

and now that i think of it, if the .40 w/ sights was $630 out the door thats good too since sights are about $100 installed

Just bought a new XD9SC in northern IN for $460 OTD. Your price like everyone else has said isn't that bad.
