I just found two issues with my XD9sc

Okay guys I just cleaned my XD9. While I was applying some grease I noticed the lip on the locking block where the slide runs was bent up. Upon further inspection I noticed this.

All four sides on the locking block are starting to curl up. I don't know if you can tell in the pic but the shiny part in the picture is where the metal is starting to curl.

On the lip right behind the slide stop lever also have damage.

I also noticed that the tip of the firearm was discolored. I almost looks like a thin layer of superglue was applied. In the pic it doesn't look that noticeable but I had already wiped down the gun before I took the pic.

I have not cleaned my XD the last two times I have gone to the range. I didn't even wipe down the gunpowder off the outside. I have a feeling this is why I have the discoloation.

So has anyone had a similar problem with their XD? What could have caused this? So I guess I need to email SA about this.

Ya my XD40 had about 1k rounds and didn't have any signs of this happening. I have put about 500 rnds down the pipe. The previous owner said he fired 50.

Old style block I think. There are no indentions along the edge. It's just straight. My XD40 was manufactured in 2/05 and had the new style block. While the XD9 was manufactured 6/06 and has the old style block.

I have shot 300 rounds of WWB, 100 Remintong JHP, 50-100 rnds of Ranger 124 grain +p and +p+.

I'm not sure what you're describing but I made a thread on here with lots of pics of my XD9 after 10,000 rounds. You're welcome to check out those pics and see if mine is doing it too.

Basically every corner on the block where the slide rides is bent upward like something is catching while firring. This is also occuring on the corner behind the slide lock lever. I looked on the inside of the slide and there are no signs of excessive wear or anything that might be catching.

If you look at the corner in the foreground in this pic you will notice that it is really rounded compared to the others. This is due to the fact that it is peeling upward.

Propellerhead your corners or ends look fine nothing like mine.

I believe that is the "new style" locking block because it has the rounded corners. The old ones did not have the rounded corners if I'm not mistaken. I think you got a lemon or something. It happens no matter what the reputation the gun manufacturer. I'm sure SA will stand behind thier product. Send it back and have the pros. figure it out.

The new block has the half circles cut into them is on the top of the block. Plus the left side of the gun is ALOT worse than the right. The right side is just starting to become rounded. Unfortunatly I don't have a macro lense to show a better angle. I'll try when I get home tonight to get better pics to send to SA

This corners I am talking about are on the lip the slide rides along to keep the base and the slide together.

I've shot less than 200 rnds of +p and +p+ ammo in this gun.
