XD Sub-Compact or the Service?

I am going to purchase one of the above hopefully this week. It will be used for CC and for range use. What do you guys think of the 3" Sub-Compact compared the the 4" Service? I am also leaning toward the Trijicon sights.

I have the service and sometimes I wish I bought the sub compact. It appears to be easier to conceal. Dammit now I have to buy the subcompact. For the love of everything holy in the jungle. Though I will still keep the service too.

The big challenge for me is the length of the grip, not the barrel. The barrel fits down my pants and doesn't make that much of a difference.

Sometimes, I'm tempted to do the grip chop on my service just to make it easier to hide. But there's no point since I have both a service and a subcompact.

I have a subcompact and i like it a lot. They ship it with 13 round mags with a grip extender (like the .45 compact) and the 10 round carry mags. At least mine did. It is plenty accurate at 25 feet (if only i was more accurate lol) and conceals very well.

SC

I have both in 9mm. I like the feel of the Service better, but I shoot them both equally well. I would say that for CC you might want to just go ahead and buy the sc model. With the grip extension they are both good shooters.

I'd hold both. Especially with the Grip Extensions, and without them.

I use the service for IDPA, and the SC to carry. It is so much easier to conceal the SC, and it shoot surprisingly well. But you can't have just one.

Get the SC.....with the mag extensions the grip is similar to the service....in my opinion it's almost the same set-up as the .45 compact...two guns in one. The SC offers the versatility and I've seen many on the forum state that they're more accurate with the SC then the service. Your only challenge may be finding one!

I have three XDs, all 40 caliber; the sub compact, the service and tactical. I like them all but if I could have only one it would be the sub compact. It conceals better and out to twenty five yards, there is not a lot of difference between the sub compact and the service model as far as accuracy is concerned. I have not used the grip extension, simply because I like the way it conceals without it. I don't mind the short grip though.

Ok I lied. I actually have four XDs, just picked up the 45 Compact model this weekend!
