XD's- shooting Point of Aim or 6 o'clock?

Do most xd's shoot to "point of aim" or "6 o'clock"? Mine shoots "6 o'clock", and I would prefer "point of aim". Anyone else have this problem? Did you file the front sight? Thank you.

My XD9 sc, with Trijicon night sights, has to be fired at 6 o'clock, otherwise the POI for all the shots will be high.

They are built to shoot 6 o'clock. It even says this in the manual. If you are shooting well at point of aim within 25 yards then you aim low to begin with.

If I try to shoot 6 o clock I just end up hitting below where 6 oclock should be because it hits point of aim...

I am a new shooter and was wondering if someone could explain the difference to me between point of aim and 6 0'clock shooting?

Point of aim is when you line up the sights so that the front sight covers the point that you want the bullet to strike.

Six o'clock means that you line up the sights so that the front sight is just below or "six o'clock" of the point that you want the bullet to strike.
