Has anyone actually tried this?? From what I had read, it seemed that most people were just talking supposition and "it should" etc. Also, some had said that there would be some slight modifications that would need to be done to the magazine.
Can someone who actually is using the .40 mags in the XD-9 please post?

I have taken a .40 mag from my XD-40 and loaded it up with 9mm and stuck it in my XD-9 subby just to try it out for a few rounds. It fired perfectly with no adjusment. Some have seen the need to squeeze the feed lips together just a tad to keep the 9mm cartridge from sitting too high in the .40 mag, but sometimes that's not even necessary.

I'm going to get a .40 subcompact mag to use in my XD-9 when I get a chance.

I've just gotten back from training, ran through the course with my XD9 with only a few FTF's (annoying). A friend of mine took the same class with her 9mm XDSC. She ran into a bunch of problems when she was using 40S&W mags in her 9mm, so many so that she ended up just not using them for the rest of the class and stuck with the standard 9mm mags.

Keep in mind - 800 or so rounds over four days, so not a whole of torture-testing. But a lot of rapid, two-shot shooting.
