I use the HKS 941 mag loadder. It is the most straight-forward unit I have found; fast & easy too. All for under $10. I liked it a lot better after I took a file to that one corner that was working over my thumb.

This is where I bought it.

That youtube video is silly.

If you are right handed, place the loader over the magazine and then place the base off the mag up against the butt (muscular part just about the 7 o'clock spot from the center of your palm) of your thumb. Place index finger along the side of the loader like you would your trigger finger on the slide of your XD when not ready to fire. Place your middle finger in the half moon groove of the loader. Pull the loader back with your middle finger, and with your opposite hand, place the cartridge in, holding it with your thumb and middle finger, with your index finger on the nose of the round. As soon as you place the cartridge in the mag, hold the round with index finger on the nose of the bullet and slide your thumb and middle finger straight down onto the loader. Release the pressure from your left middle finger that's holding the loader down, and all in one motion, push down on the bullet while pulling the loader slightly off the mag with your thumb and index finger. Repeat as needed.

I'm telling you right now, this is exactly how it was designed to be used and it works quite well and you can be very fast if you use it properly.

I know the skin on my thumb doesn't miss loading 2-300 rounds per range trip on bit.

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

I used the mag loader once, and thought it was a pain. I just load by hand, since it's faster and doesn't feel as awkward.

Personally, I like loading 22's with the knob on the side to compress the spring all the way. Talk about easy!

Maybe I am using the loader wrong. Am I supposed to move it up and down with every round? I see that all the other loaders move with every round. Maybe it is just me. OK I have read all the replies again. Yes I am supposed to repeat the motion over and over. thanks. I will give it another try tonight.
