XD-SC 40 mags
I am new to handguns and all guns for that matter. I have a Subcompact XD 40 and I was wondering where the best place to get mags was? When I got the gun it came with 12+1 and a 9+1 mags I was wondering what the highest capacity mag I could get for it and if I could use regular XD mags in a subcompact?

I think the 12+1 IS the normal mag, just with a sleeve. Don't think there are any factory mags bigger.

Best place to get them: www.pistolgear.com
You can use any 12 rd XD40 magazine with a sleeve, or the 9 round XD40 magazine.

Correct. If you are looking to purchase more mags for it, I'd highly recommend that you keep it Springfield Armory. There are some other cheaper, off-brand mags. I have one and it gives me crap every now and then. My factory SA mags have never messed up.

I have several ProMag mags that take 20rds but they are very very unreliable. I have 3-5 failure to feed every try, with every mag. But they are truly awesome range mags as I don't have to reload as often. I am paying by the half hr so reloading can get old after awhile. I just pull the slide back a little more and they are ready to go. All XD Gear mags (factory mags) I have are flawless even with reloads.
