XD Changes.

I think that Springfield could benefit from having some chngnes in the XD Line. One would be inter changable back and front straps, with one of the options on the front straps being finger grooves. Any other thoughts?

I'm in favor of changeable straps. I'm also in favor of a .40 cal based off the .45acp frame.

Higher capacity? Or other reasons as well? I think they should make A 10mm too. I wouldn't necessarily want one, but there are alot who seem to...

+1 to last post, and also a .40 compact (compact grip, 4" barrel) like the 45c.

I was thinking that it would be great to have a .45 sub-compact! I think that would be the bee's knees!

.45acp doesn't fare too well with 3" barrels as far as I know.

But at a range of 7-25 feet, I think that it would be just fine, and will shoot solid Minute of Bad-Guy. A friend of mine CC's with his 3 in. 1911. And he is damn good. (he is also my firearms instructor)

I wouldn't be opposed to that if it could be engineered so as to not change the size of the current frame.

One more thing. I think that the recoil spring should be one compact piece (a la GLOCK) so while removing it, it doesn't shoot off into space. I noticed on a friends XD .40 SC, it already has this. Any idea why it isn't on the .45?
