Curious about the bi-tone pistol

I was at the range the other day, and the guy next to me was shooting a bi-tone XD-45. I noticed on the tip of his barrel, there is some dark burn mark. For some reason it just reminds me of a white honda civic with huge exhaust, and there is burn mark on the car around the exhaust

Anyways, I was wondering if that's a common symptom on a bi-tone gun after a while?

Everytime I shoot my SS Kimber or my CobraChromed G32 I get the black stuff you're talking about. I just take it home and put some Butch's Bore solvent on it....good as new.
I guess that guy just doens't know how or refuses to clean his firearms correctly.

powder residue. all guns get it, but it shows up on non-black finished guns very prominently.

Being a 45, might speed up the residue build up. I have the 9 in bi-tone, and have put 300 rounds through it since the last cleaning, with no residue.

Very funny! My bi-tone doesn't have the residue you speak of, but I clean it promptly after shooting. Other than the "tiger-striping" on the barrel, it's all good here!

I did mean to imply that the residue comes right off during normal cleaning. quick wipe with #9 and she's clean as new.

my muzzle end always gets black residue after shooting. Simple wipe down with my silicone rag works wonders. Good as new after a cleaning... happens on black slides as well, just does a better job at hiding it.

I get that ring on my bi-tone xd-40 after about 200 rounds. It comes right off with some CLP.

If he gets severe burns on his tip, maybe he should try wearing a condom. Wait, what were we talking about again?!?!?
