New XD 40

I picked up my new XD 40 Service today after 5 weeks on layaway (an excrutiating wait). I can't wait to shoot it. I hope that will be tomorrow afternoon. I've got ammo and an extra mag ready to go. And you guys are all right. It was a B-i-itch to get 12 rounds in the mags.
Now my XD 9 Service will have some company. Looking at the two of them together reminds me of Pamela Anderson... my what a lovely pair they make.

I'll give a range report later.

Hasta luego.

Congratulations GMan! I own an XD40 too and it's become my favorite range gun. I think you will enjoy it as well. The XD40 is a fine, well-made, reliable weapon. Best, you are going to have a blast "accessorizing." But don't go overboard like me. The wife says, "no mas!"

"Are you telling me you don't have a tube grip on your XD?!"

I too just got my XD 40

I was kind of ticked when I called my local gun shop and asked if my package was shipped today. "No, we don't get mail on Saturdays....but let me see if it allreay came...yep, it came yesterday."

Thanks for telling me, bozo. Do non-XD fans realize what a difference 24 hours makes in the soul of a new XD owner? Man, I want that baby in my hands the hour she comes in. They didn't bother calling me. Nice.

Anyhow, G Tres, writes that the mags were hard to cram 12 rounds in. No joke. I still can only get 11 in them. I'm going to let the 11 sit for awhile before breaking my fingers putting the 12th in. But I'm still a happy new XD owner. Can't wait to shoot.

P.S. Anyone know how tight to keep a paddle holster? I use an Uncle Mike's. I'm afraid I have it too tight.

As tight as you can while still being able to draw from it every time.

Roughly .63 tipas on my snugnometer.
