magazine question

Can a 10 round service magazine be modified to hold 15 or 16 rounds? Is it as simple as changing the internals? If it is are the internals availible or is it just cheaper to get new mags?

i dont think it can be done when the Klinton law took affect it specifically stated 10 round mags that could not be converted and if your in a state where 10 rounds is the legal limit you wouild be breaking the law, as to the mags the tubes has ribs which woud have to be straightened out i myself dont see how it could be done.

I think a well determined individual could do it.

Just some patience and a metal file....

I do not condone this, of course.

I live in colorado so there is no issue with the 10 rounds only. I've come across a couple ten round magazines and was just wondering what the difference was. I've come from california though and thank God I left. No 10 day waits and I can carry a loaded gun in the car legally. I haven't seen any more violence than I did in california but I must say I feel a lot safer knowing I have a gun just incase I need it.

when i ordered my xd45 compact, the first one that came was a service model, 10 round and 13 round magazines with it.

dealer reorders...

another service model...this one with 2 10 round magazines, so basically a california service model....

he then drives 45 miles one way to pick up only my gun because of the mistake, i had my gun on time that he promised, no big deal.

xd45 compact - 10 round magazine, 13 rounder with extension.

Plus (+), I would not want to lose the functionality of my hand either.

WARNING: Graphic Image will demonstrate why it would be cheaper to buy a high capacity magazine and not try and cut corners.
