what's my XD's worth?
I'm thinking about selling my XD-40 Service model in a local FTF deal and would like to know how much to ask for, I'm in California by the way. I like the gun alot but am having a hard time adjusting to striker pin based pistol (not very comfortable with leaving 1 in the chamber) so I'm going back to hammer.
Anyways, it's late last year's production with the factory test shell dated Nov/2006. It's in like new condition with no scatches, Melonite finish, 4 factory mags, 1 EFK 9mm conversion barrel and of course the XD gear, box and all paperwork. The gun's had 600 rnds of .40 and 200 rnds of 9mm ammo run through it, how much can I get for this package? |

If you're willing to wait for a buyer that wants all the extras you could get 450 or so. Just a guess.

Depends on how much it was when you bought it, I guess.
Everything in the package depreciates, not just the gun. Matt

There are places to pick up service models for as low as $430. You can't expect to get back near what your out the door total price was. Retail minus 25-35% even in like new condition.

From what I've seen, most people don't see the non-factory barrel as a bonus. Most people want to pimp there own weapon from factory. So too many adjustments can be seen as a negative thing.
If you have the factory barrel, you may be better off selling the barrel separately from the gun.

I think at that price you'd be holding on to that XD for quite some time. Like I said a service model 9 or .40 can be had for as low as $430, add a few mags, and still have plenty of $$$$ for ammo. As previously stated, the aftermarket barrel won't always be seen as a plus. No one wants to buy someone elses hot rod.
