Full Auto Gum!

Yes, I said gum, not gun! My 7-yr old son (who likes guns and FPS games, since he was 3!) was watching me clean my XD and he came up with this invention.

Here's the XD SubC 40 that inspired him. Posted photos of it a few weeks ago, but didn't have the XML light or vestigal paddle holster (yes, it's the freebie left handed model)!

Yes, that is still a Christmas tree set up in the corner. It was a second small tree and for some reason my wife wanted to keep it up all year.

Don't worry about it we still have Christmas lights up on our deck. They're now Summer decorative lights.

You're son is very creative.

He wanted to duct tape the "mag" on, but couldn't find the tape (they learn early the old adage "if it moves and shouldn't - duct tape it, and if it doesn't move and should - WD-40 it! the only two tools a man needs") Okay, I know WD40 isn't a lube, but I think that's how the old joke goes.

He's been making guns out of anything he gets his hands on, Legos, etc., since he was 2 or 3. Has every Nerf gun and water pistol known to man! Tough holding this one back until he's old enough for real shooting.

Wow that is some great creativity. From what your son sounds like, he sounds just like me as a kid My father had a hard time holding back on teaching me to shoot the real guns too. That is really awesome, sounds like you have a great son

Some might disagree with me on this, but I think that 7y/o is the perfect age to start training with a .22 bolt gun and/or .22 pistol. The earlier he learns the fundamentals of firearms safety and handleing, the less chance of his curiosity getting to him should he get hold of a real gun somehow.
