XD 9- Did I get a good deal

Had an impulse buy at Gander Mountain. They had an XD 9 service model on closeout. It was not the kit with the holster, just 2 mags and the cleaning stuff. They had one left for $349. Just seemed like a great deal so I bought it with no research. I think it shoots great. Was the rice right?

If it is new, it sounds like you saved over a hundred bucks by not getting a crappy holster, mag holder and a plastic box.

It could be an older model without the Melonite slide.

Even so it's still a good price on the older model.

Did it have the test casing and the date when it was fired?

You can also call Springfield to find out if it has the coating.

Sounds like a great deal to me. The crappy holster and mag holder sit in a drawer and I paid about $130 more than you to get that stuff (also at GM).

Sounds like a good deal to me....If I had to guess I'd say it is a pre-melonite gun, but a good deal no matter how you look at it. If it is pre-melonite, just keep an eye out for rust. That said, my XD is pre-melonite and have not had a single issue with rust....

Enjoy!!!

It was new and does have a test casing. However, I cannot read the date. I will call Springfield and ask them. When did they start using the Melonite?

April 2006 I believe. They'll be able to tell you though.

Thanks for the help. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do anything stupid. The guy told me they just marked them down and the employees had bought all of them except this last one. I generally think if it is too good to be true, it probably is.
