Xd-40 failure to feed problems
My xd-40 service model performed flawlessly the first couple thousand rounds. I am starting to have issues with it not feeding correctly. The spent shell casing is ejected and the new round gets jammed on the feed ramp. The fix is simple enough, just pulling the slide all the way back and releasing it will get it to chamber. I don't think this is operator error...just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and if there are any fixes for it.

try some different ammo and see if that fixes it. i know that sometimes blazer brass will act up in my 1911's but not my xd. also make sure the extractor is clean. if this doesnt help, hit up SA for a fix. that pistol should be running better.

Might also try a new recoil spring. Check the breach and chamber.

This may be too obvious, but i would clean, buff and lightly grease the ramp....

How many mags do you have?
If you only have the two that came with the gun and have put 2000rds through them the springs might need to be replaced, or maybe the mags are just dirty. If the gun was working fine then started to have feeding problems, I would check springs and your mags. But I would try a new recoil spring first. |

Thanks guys. The feed ramp is nice and polished and I ruled out ammo as the problem...so I got on the wolff website and ordered some stronger mag springs and a better recoil spring. They should be here in a couple days...I'm hoping these will do the trick!
