Suggestions on buying

I have an xd 40 service and want to buy either a xd-sc 40 or a xd 45compact, are there any problems with either of these guns I should be aware of when going to buy? I am going to cc the firearm. I have read to much about the roll pin breaking on the xd 40 service and the slide locking back before the mag is empty so I don't know if I can really trust it. It was mfg in 2/06 have those problems been taken care of,if so I am still going to buy a sc 40 or a 45 compact anyway

1100 rds through my Compact .45 and no problems. It's not the most easily concealable pistol made by any means. I carry with the 10rd mag in the pistol and my extra mags are all 13rd with the Xtension ring.

Can't offer an opinion on the .40 as I've only shot the service model.

I just bought a bi-tone XD9 SC yesterday and love it. The only problem I had was the pricing. I bought it for 475.00 but had to drive 90 minutes to get it. The store here in Hutchinson had the same gun for 200.00 higher, so it pays to shop around.

I just picked up a used 40 SC for $400 and have been very happy with it so far. I have yet to pick up a CC holster but I can see where is will be fairly easy to conceal.

Just picked up a new SC .40 for $459 less than an hour ago. Haven't been able to get to the range yet, but plan on going this Tuesday and am very excited to see how it compares to my 5" .45. If you are anywhere near central Indiana you have to check out Plainfield Shooting Supplies. They have some of the best prices I've seen. Looks to be a great cc gun.

edit ... I see you are in Florida.

The guy I bought My XD 45 ACP and my XD9 SC from gave me great deals on both. While I was there, he got three different calls from all over the country. It's Dave's Gun Shop in Winfield, Kansas.
