Anyone have their slide refinished at SA?

My slide is showing holster wear. I'd like to refinish it. Anyone have SA refinish their slide? What does it look like? Are these good prices?

Armory Kote, all metal parts (Matte black or OD green)..............$ 90.00
Black T, all metal parts (Matte black or OD green).....................$ 145.00
Hard chrome, all metal parts (Matte finish)...............................$ 195.00
Nickel Teflon finish, all metal parts..........................................$ 195.00

Heck, by going to www.caswellplating.com I can buy an electroless nickel plating kit for $139 and save myself some cash.

IMO, you should send it to AJames and have it DuraCoated. I had mine done about 6-7 months ago and love it. Cleaning is easier, and you don't have to worry about scratches. It holds up very well. I just had mine done in black to match the frame. If I remember correctly, it is $55, and that includes return shipping. All he needs is the slide, unless you want the other parts like the mag release, grip safety, etc. done as well.

I had my stainless XD finished in Black-T through Springfield's Custom Shop. Great price, great turnaround, couldn't be happier. Arguably the best black finish out there of its kind. Highly recommended.

I had Tripp Research do my hard chrome. Whatever you decide on, I probably would not use SA. It will take too long and they will probably farm most of it out anyway.

Have you tried Brad Cummings with CCR refinishing? http://www.ccr-refinishing.com/

He charges around 60 bucks to redo a slide in any color you want. I have had two slides done by Brad. My 220 carry and Glock 29. Both were done in his brushed stainless look and held up great.

Mediocre photo at best here. It's very smooth and even, very flat. Check out photos of Springfield's Professional (1911) - it also comes with Walter Birdsong's Black-T, and there are lots of better photos of it on that gun.
