XD9 shoots 3-4 inches low
I noticed that my XD9 4" Service was shooting about 3-4 inches low at 25 yards with a variety of different brands of 115 grain ammo, all standard (no +P loads). I am using center POA. Since these loads are what I will probably be using most of the time for cost reasons, I was thinking about the possibility of replacing the front sight with a slightly lower one to raise the POI to match the center POA. I know that SIG sights fit the XD, and was thinking of this as a possibility. Has anyone out there replaced their XD9 front sight with a SIG or other brand of front sight, and if so, what # or dimensions did you use? Are there other factors or options I should be considering? Thanks.

Are you using the POA or 6 o'clock aim? It might help to change.

You have to change your style on the XD. It took me about 50 rounds to figure this out, once I did, they were up where they were suppose to be. A lttle right still, but that was adjusted when I got the hang of the correct grip on it. My left thumb was having a hard time finding a spot on it, and I have to rest it on the field strip attachement piece. Otherwise, it was in the trigger some. All is good now, was hitting perfect groups this afternoon with it. I think the manual shows the correct aim for the XD.

You might need to change out your front sight.

In my manual for my SC9, it says 6:00 is the correct aiming point. Notwithstanding that, mine shot 6" low at 25 yards. The same problem occurred when the dept. rangemaster shot it.
I contacted SA and sent it in. They changed the rear sight, which was mismatched (they were Heinie Slant 8 from the factory) and it shoots right on now. Maybe that is your problem also; wrong sight. |

+p ammo will not make a difference. Do you have stock sights or night sights of some kind?
