A Co-worker of mine brought a question to me and now I will bring it to you. He took the CCW permit class but has yet to sent in paperwork for permit. Here is why, recently he has read about the possibility of DC gun ban, which, if passed, would probably spread through US like wildfire. He also read about Bush signing the bill which grossly rewrites our constitutional rights. He wants to know if by finalizing his permit would it put him under a "finer microscope" than if he did not have a permit. As for me...I am so disgusted that because of our government a question like this has to be asked.

No, this will not put him under a finer microscope. The sad fact is if anyone has ever purchased a firearm through a licensed dealer, there is a record of that sale at the FFL holders place of business. Easy enough to get that book and track you down. Even easier, do you get offers in the mail saying they can cut $$$ off your monthly mortagage and credit card payments, then quoting the actuals numbers of your mortgage and credit card payments??? So much info is available about each one of us and the Internet has made it all readily accessible to people who really want to know.
We have to oppose the stupid laws and lawmakers, not hide in fear. If we don't buy guns or carry CCW because of fear from potential laws, then they have already accomplished their task of disarming us!
Get the guns. Get the permits. Encourage all your friends and relatives to get guns and permits. Be prepared for the day you have to fight for your rights. That is why the Second Amendment is there!

Tell your friend that those black helicopters that he sees occasionally are REAL. ATF agents in black ninja suits are just waiting in a dirty van down the street for him to drop his application in the mail so that they can spring into action and confiscate his collection of 6 pistols and 5 rifles (milsurps and one EBR). He gets it. Stay off the grid, only travel at night, don't use credit, do not purchase firearms over the counter, etc. You may laugh now, but one day you will wish you had this mans perspective.

DC gun ban? Are you talking about HB1099, which isn't a DC gun ban at all? Or the DC gun ban that was stricken down in court? Or is this a nonsensical post from a guy in a black helicopter?
