Anyone find a lanyard for a Tactical?

I have a 9mm tactical. I’m looking for a lanyard. I contacted SA, and asked them if they had one, their response was less than helpful. Therefore, I want to know if anyone has found a lanyard for their XD.

technically there is no lanyard for the XD because it's not designed to have one. The only thing you can do is drill a small hole in the back to attach a lanyard yourself. I don't know for sure how good it'd hold up. I suppose it depends on how cleanly the hole is drilled and how close to an edge it is.

A cheap do it yourself trick is to put JB Weld in the hollow part of the grip. When it sets, screw in a small eye screw in it. Instant lanyard hook that you can unscrew when you don't need or replace cheaply if you break it.

Why would you make a Tatical pistol if there's no way to have a weapon retention lanyard? Might as well re-name it XD long slide, it'd be more approprate.

There are a bunch of people going to Iraq that are in non-combat MOSes that are big time into the "taticool" gear such as Lanyards and stuff. Even though these people will never even draw their weapon from their holster but to put them into a desk drawer once they get to work.

A lot of times this had led to careless weapons discipline. People are depending on their new hi-speed low drag equipment to watch their weapons for them. Holsters don't get secured and people have them fall out of the holsters while horseplaying like idiots.

I'm a little confused?? Maybe I am missing something, but what's does a lanyard have to do a tactical pistol? I remember lanyards being on pistols in old war movies, but that's all i can think of. I don't ever remember someone calling a 1911, Ruger, Beretta 92F or those police .38(?) revolver's a tactical pistol.

Dunno, I guess it's still left over from when I was in the Marines and deals a lot with weapon retention and picking up an officer's 1911 off the deck of Sea Knight.

When I go shooting with my friends (outdoors), I stll use a war belt with a drop leg. We also hike like this, therefore, weapon retention is important to me. Am I ever going to be in combat again? Hopefully not, but it's a skill I don't want to loose either. I'm a civilian now and I won't be kicking in doors or clearing rooms anythime soon (hopefully.)

None of the XDs have lanyard loops, that's the main problem. Also, no one makes an adapter to fit in the slot either. Granted, neither does my USP.
