SA XD finish

I purchased a NIB SA XD40 stainless this week and the date on the fired case pack is 3-23-2005.The finish looks great, but should I worry about it rusting?Do all older SA XD pistols suffer from rust problems? If I have to I will send the pistrol out for a good finish job,but if this finish will hold up I rather save the money.

If you got the BiTone you should have no problems it was only the black finish that was a problem, Mine is late 2003 production and have not ever had a problem with the finish.

I've got a bitone with about 1300 rounds through it... Not a speckle of rust on it! But I'm very meticulous about cleaning it after every trip to the range! I wouldn't worry about it. Hell, I bought it right around that time in 05...

i wouldnt worry about a refinishing job until you have to, the test casing for my sc9 is jan 05 and i havent noticed any rusting issues and i carry it all the time in a xd gear paddle holster, and i just picked up an IWB Don humes for it from another XD Talk member that i will be using as it continues to get warmer
