I don't think anyone should jump to judgement of Glock. They're an international arms manufacturer that supplies to countries throughout the world. Any country who contracts with them is going to have to be clear about the purpose of the purchase and face international sanctions if they breach that contract.

The bigger XD-related question is - does Springfield Armory actually own and control HS Produkt, the Zagreb, Croatia-based manufacturer of the XD/HS2000?

If they do not, what are the export practices by HS Produkt?
If SA does control, what are the limits on export practices set by SA based on American policy?

There go those Austrians again (Steyr) or as Lloyd Christmas would say, in his best "Austrian" accent, "Put another shrimp on the barbie, mate!"

Many Austrians hate the USA, there was one volunteering to help Saddam if we invaded. They regard our involvment in their defeat as meddling in European affairs, and amny deeply resnt us for it. Austria was more Nazi the Germany, no big mystery since Adolf was an Austrian, but they did not suffer the consequences for WW2 like the Germans did, so they were not taught a 'lesson'.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle

Interesting analysis.

-1 to glock. I'm a fan of free enterprise, but this is just a bad decision, IMO, to send loads of firearms to the major state sponsor of terror.

This is nothing new. There were companies during WWI that sold weapons to both sides during the war, especially machine guns. Our bolt action rifles were based off of the German Mauser design (like hundreds of other rifles in the world).

Who do you think supplied weapons to Iraq during their war with Iran and to Afghanistan during the Russian occupation. We did.

Infact it is said that we also supplied the Iraqis with early Stinger missles to fight the Iranians and the Iranians captured some and made an Iranian stinger by "reverse" engineering it. I wouldn't be supprised if Iran just started to make their own .50 cal rifles.

Do I support it no I don't. I probably won't be buying Glocks anytime soon from them but I"m not going to hold it against them I'm just going to hit them in their wallet.

The inaccuracy of that article has been corrected by AP. It was IRAQ, NOT IRAN!!!!

No real news here, as we all knew that the U.S. had bought the Glocks for use by the Iraqi police. Just bad reporting.

Wow! Thanks for clearing that up, Mercmar.

It makes more sense now.
