Broke a spring

Yea Its my fault, But now I got to call springfield tomarrow and talk them into selling me a grip saftey spring for my xd9. I never really thought too much about their parts policy until now. I am not looking forward to driving an hour to fed X and spending all that money to ship it then drive all the way home and wait for 2 weeks without my carry gun.
I was planning on buying a xd45 compact this week from Bud's, but I think I will need some questions anwsered , mainly when they will sell parts, before I decide to get another xd. I love the xd pistols, especially the 45c but I will not stand for this . Im not bashing the xd, just springfield armory

PS. anyone know of a good 4" barell 45 with good trigger, ergos, capacity, size, reliability thats not an the XD

I do hope springfield makes it right by me because the xd is my favorite gun.

Springfield dose turn repairs around pretty quick, and they will refund the shipping to a point just by asking.
On the plus side it is a good reason to pick up a backup XD.

As for your other question, Para Ordance makes some great guns, and they come in all sizes.
Another one that I have always liked is the CZ style, they have all kinds of makers like CZ, Tangfoilo (might not be splled right), EAA (Witness I think), and Magnum Reasearch (baby eagle). I think it's one of the best pointing guns around, at least for me. The .45ACP model holds 11+1, I think.
I like them enough that I have one on hold right now (it's a CZ SP01 9mm for USPSA Production class next year, I'm going to keep using my XD40 Tac for this year)
Kimber also has a polymer framed .45, I'm not a big fan of Kimber, but that one I do like.
The bottom line is if it were me I would be looking hard at a Para LDA P14, with night sights, if I wasn't carrying an XD everyday (Ok so I am thinking about getting one, but it would be the P16 40S&W model)
This has just been my .02, but I hope it helps.

40shooter thanks for the reply and suggestions. I might have to look at that para.

Well as far as my little problem with my saftey spring is concerned, Springfield is sending me another for free! this was music to my ears this morning. I spoke to a nice lady on the phone who was very helpful.
I did ask what are all the parts they will send out to people in need of replacements. well she was vague in her anwser saying there are some parts we can send but some parts we cant like the barrel and extractor.
I then asked if she had a list of approved parts to send and she said no you will just have to call. I also told her I read on a gun forum springfield was going to start selling some parts in the near future, but she didnt know anthing about that.

Well I am satisfied and will buy an xd45 compact this week to compliment my other 2 xd's. This parts policy is not as bad as it seems. It can be frustrating at times but I dont think It will keep me from buying their guns. As for my last post, I guess I just needed to vent.
