.22 LR conversion for xd
Has anyone heard anything about whether or not there will be a .22 LR conversion for the xd? I mean I've only got a 9mm, but I'm a poor college kid and even that gets expensive.

I was wondering about this also. But it sees like the .22 kits for other makes are around $200 and for that price I could pick up a dedicated .22 For some reason I feel like a conversion kit would not be the best for my XD. Are my assumptions correct or are these kits good to use?

You know we just like our XDs so much we want to shoot them all the time. A 22lr conversion makes a lot of sense to some of us but not much to others. That is fine. If you want a dedicated 22 then go get one. If someone wants to shoot their XD a lot but can't afford the 6-10$ for 50 rounds then a 200$ conversion looks mighty tempting. I have a conversion for just about every type of firearm i own. I have an AR-15 dedicated, I have a Glock dedicated, and I have a 1911 dedicated conversion. All of them are very accurate and a lot of fun to shoot. Also I have yet to find a decent 22lr pistol with the accuracy of the advantage kits for under 250$

I think it would be a neat option to have.

I have a kit on one of my 1911s, and if they ever come out with an XD .22 kit, or even an Airsoft, I would buy one.
Both the .22, and the airsofts are good for learning sight pictuers, and target transition, but with almost no recoil, you (I) need to go shoot a couple hundred rounds to get my timing back. A couple years back I wanted to work on my weak hand shooting for USPSA matches, and at that time I was shooting a Para P-16, I didn't want to burn up half a seasons worth of 40S&W, so it took my Browining Buckmark Micro (3" barrel) which points alot like a 1911 to the range. After about 800 rounds ($15-$20 worth of CCI Blazer) I was shooting plate racks (6 plates), starting at the low ready from 10 yards, at about 2-3 seconds per run, weak hand only. I did have to shoot the Para some to get use to the recoil again, but it was worth it to have a .22lr for practice ($150-$180 for 800 rounds of 40S&W vs $20 for .22lr), and that was just one practice outing, I did about 7-8 trips like that. |
