Sight Replacement
Well sucks for me, I contacted my local gun shop to see if they put in sights. The answer was a no. They wont be offering any gunsmith services to the public until May. So I may have to do it myself. Can anyone post pics of the procedure? or provide a link to a video. We need a how-to section on the forum. I want to go ahead and get some TFOs or maybe ill just wait until the suresights are back in, maybe by that time they will have a gunsmith available here.

I don't have any video, but you will need a vice, with padding for the jaws, a brass punch, dead blow hammer, and if that dosen't work you will also need a steel punch, and at least a 3# hammer to beat the crap out of it.
Just keep your fingers out of the way when using the 3 pounder. Some tap out kinda easy, and others can be a real pain in the rear, I have had some of each. |

Damn I just talked to another gun shop and they said they do it but charge $70! That seems a little much for something so small

check with some of our forum sponsors they are going to be a lot cheaper than most, especially if you order the sight from them. I got my Trijicon ordered and installed through James at xd/HS 2000 for $105.00

I'm pretty sure those same sponsors will install sights you already bought, for an appropriate fee. not $70.
you only have to ship the slide, so its not too spendy. |

I did mine myself with a brass punch, vice with some padding, and a pretty hard blow to get them initially moving. Then they just tap out.
Not for the faint of hearted i might add.
