well mind you, i was rather miffed, in the video he doesnt remove the sites.. i mean it is a Disassembly video, he doesnt show it, just talks about it, he doesnt remove the extractor either... talks about how to, and how hard it is.. but again, its a disassembly video, and should have demonstrated everything.

cheers

I doubt some of these folks who make the videos really know the ins and outs.

Interesting, you can take the pins out either way, if you have a tight retailing clip, you can screw it up if you go left to right (from the shooters view) when taking out the locking block pins, so I go right to left because they come out easier that way and you don't have tear out on a tight one. I've only taken those pins in and out several thousands of times.

The sear pins it doesn't matter, sear spring pin only goes one way (right to left) to take it out.

I just finished removing the old sights and replacing them with Ameriglo NS. The factory rear sights was simple to remove. The front sight wouldn't budge, so I broke out the dremel. The dremel made quick work of the front sight.

Anyone install night sights yourself?

I've got a B & J Universal sight pusher and a set of Heine Straight Eight's. The local smith says he usually sends the slide to SA if anyone wants night sights on their XD since the sights can be tight to put on and take off. I'm curious what exactly makes the XD sights so hard to take off and also has anyone done this themselves?

I bought the MGW XD sight pusher....I've done 4 XD's with it.
Not sure if it would work on the Heinie sights. Wouldn't work for the TFO rears.
