i was looking for one of those local. talked to a couple gun dealers here who have FOBUS, and said they where not that good, that they tend to roto way out of position, even to the point of your gun turning handle down.

dunno though first hand, i like my Fobus non roto though for my xd.

cheers

I got one of those XD Gear adjustable holsters like the Fobus at Christmas. I moves up and down and can cant several degrees forward and back. I don't really like it because it positions the firearm too far from your body for concealed carry. It has adjustable tension but the gun never seems to snap in real well. I did buy one of the XD Gear paddle holsters (fixed position) yesterday when I picked up my new XD40 and I like it alot. It's adjustable too and the gun snaps in and retains well. It was only $14.99 vs $35 for the adjustable. The part # is XD3500PH1 if you want to look into it. I think the Fobus and XD Gear holsters are both made in Israel.

I like the E2 Generation of holsters by Fobus, not the older style. The adjustable retention version are better than the fixed generation for sure.

Note that a Roto-Holster is not IDPA legal, in case you want to use it for IDPA too.

I have the regular FOBUS for the XD.

It has a slight cant to it.

I find that if I keep my belt snug, I have no problems with movement at all.

I have no problem with it sticking out too far to be my carry holster.

Everywhere I have checked, looked, seen, etc........the Fobus ROTO is non existent. Maybe that should be an indication.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm looking at the Fobus Roto because I liked the shoulder rig and thigh rig that's available for it.

I like the idea of interchanging the holster and being able to attach it to a thigh rig when and then slapping it onto a shoulder rig (mainly when I'm driving).

IMHO the Fobus roto sticks out too far for carry because of the roto mechanisim. I have one with both belt and paddle attachements. The paddle is more stable than the belt due to the extra length of the paddle. With it sticking out it tends to lean on me using the belt attach. I have a pretty good belt but perhaps a very very stiff belt would keep that from happening. I also have a Hume Open Top and it just sits much closer to the body and is easier for concealment.

I had a Roto Paddle for my S&W snubby. It was OK... to tell you the truth, I actually like the XD Gear holster better. Couple problems with the roto:

- I had a bit of a problem with the draw. I like the tension screw better for me to decide my draw power.

- The roto paddle had a tendancy for me to come loose when moving (getting in and out of the car, etc.) Once you move it too much, the screw will loosen and holster will not be secure.

They are alright, but I would just buy the XD Gear paddle holster.

Thanks!

I have a roto holster that won't stay in place. Not worth the money. If you want a Fobus holster make sure it's the fixed position.
