I just got my XD9, and noticed that the owner's manual says that it is designed for a 6 o'clock sight picture. I thought combat handguns were designed for a centered sight picture. I've fired handguns a few times in the past, but not enough to hone my marksmanship skills with these little critters, so I'm not sure I'll be able to really tell where this XD is sighted in for. Can any of you other XD owners tell me how yours came sighted - 6 o'clock or centered? Thanks!

do that mean you line up the front and rear and point it to the target and you will be aiming right below it?

Before I installed my TFO's, i had to use a 6 o'clock position for sighting in. Now that I have my TRUGLO TFO sights, I'm usiing a centered sight picture.

Centered - top of front sight even with rear sight and centered on the intended point of impact.
6 o'clock - top of front sight sits at bottom of round bulls eye target, and point of impact is the middle of bulls eye.

+1 This is the only way to hit the bullseye, if I use the 6:00 position I hit about 5" low at 25 yards.

Like others have said my TFOs are point of aim.

I shoot 2 XD's a .40 and a .45 both are Tac's I find that within 25 yards I can shoot point of aim. Any further than that and I have to lollypop the target. Maybe it's the gun, maybe it's me I don't really know but it works

I have heard that the bullet rises some after leaving the barrel so that would make sense that you would have to raise the sights at less than 25 yards. I can prove that statement though all I know is that I have to put the front dot on the bullseye to avoid shooting low.
