Thumbs up Got my hands on a 40 subby

New member....Waz-up!

Have had my XD-40 4'' for almost a year or so (built Dec. 05, bought June 06). Just bought my XD-40 3'' SC 2 days ago. The way I hear it, these guns are hell to try and find. Infact, its literally off the presses (built 01-13-07). Paid $529 for it brand spankin new (Nevada). Are the 40 SCs really that hard to get? Most of the gun store owners around here have never even seen one and mine is the 2nd one ever seen at the store I got it from. I've had a hard time tracking one down and bought it the second my buddy called in its sighting from the gun store. Going to use it as an off-duty CCW weapon. Are these XD subs really that hard to find? When did SA officially release them? Thanks

I had to drive to a shop 2 1/2 hours away to find my (used) xd-40 sub. It's the only one I could find.

Nice pick up. I just recently bought a SC 9 and I had to do some searching to find it. Most stores around here have a list but I ended up finding one nearby. Here in Seattle, I paid $430 for it. Not bad for the most over priced city two years in a row, according to Forbes.

All standard feature, black and bi-tone XD's are hard to find around here, Northern VA. I work at a gunshop and I haven't seen a sub compact for 6 months, 4" 9mm several months. I hound the owner about every 2 weeks too. We go through all 7 of our distributors and almost nothing is available.

That's odd how they are scarce in some areas of the country and not in others. Currently around here (eastern PA) there's not a gun store that doesn't have them. Even the "Ma & Pa" shops have them..... all black and two-tone. Either way, glad you found one! Happy shootin.
