Tactical light and recoil

I was wondering if anyone was having any recoil issuses while having a tactical light mounted? The reason I ask is that I had read somewhere that some of these lights are heavy enough to effect the chambering of another round.

2nd question which tactiacl light would you suggest for an XD9 4"? Thanks

I carry a TLR-1 on my TAC .45 and don't even know it's there when firing. Given it's mounting position I don't see how it could affect the feeding of a round.

The issuse is not where or how the light is mounted, but the weight of the light is affecting the chambering

I could see that with some of the real early weapon lights; maybe due to their size and weight they reduced the recoil impluse so much that some weapons wouldn't cycle. But with the small lightweight lights we have now days I don't see that as a problem. I've fired surefire x 200's, streamlight tlr's, and insight m3 (and the goofy insight hk light) without a problem. And that was on everything from a glock, to an hk, to a 1911, to a.......you get the idea.

As far as which light I'd suggest, I own a tlr-1 and an insight Hk light and both of them work great. Some friends own m-3's and x-200's and they worked well too. The main reason I went with the streamlight tlr was the lower price tag.

If anything it should help chambering by helping to keep muzzle flip down and preventing a "limp wrist" failure to feed.

The only thing I would worry about with a cheap light is the shock of the recoil making the incandacent bulb burn out.

I have a XD9SC and The XML Tac light and it seems to have no effect at all on how the gun performs.

Exact same setup as above except for the bi-tone coloring, no problems!

O.k. but the light is mounted on the bottom of the frame and has no contact or affect on the slide, action or mag.
