Need XD purchase advice

Not to beat a dead horse again, but I finally have the cash to buy an XD. I need some help from fellow Utah XDers. I went to Sportsman's Warehouse and they had an XD subcompact with the gear package for $560. That seemed way high to me. Since I started looking at XDs a few years back, the prices have climbed I know but by that much? They had an XD 9 service for $460, and I believe it had no package with it. Ive tried a local pawn/gun store and I think the prices were a little better.

Anyway, to get to the point...is there any fellow Utah XDers that can point me in a direction where I can find a good deal? Or at least a better deal? Cabelas seemed to be a bit high too.

If you buy a gun online I know they ship it to your local shop for a fee, does the local shop also have a fee (I would imagine so)? I am in Utah County but would be willing to drive up to the Salt Lake area to save me money. Thanks for all the help!

Try Get Some Guns and Ammo. They have the best prices in the valley, that I've found. Sometimes they have to order them though.

Cabela's is cheaper than Sportsman's Warehouse as well, but Sportsman's will match the price and save you a long drive.

I've found Gunnies to have decent prices as well. At least the one here in Orem does.

Just to give you something to compare prices to, I just bought a XD9 SC in Bi-Tone in Calif for $550.00
This same shop wanted $530.00 for the same gun in black. I did see the gun in black at another shop here for $499.00 but they couldn't get me one in Bi-Tone.

check places that dont deal in firearms mostly. we have a fredmeyers here which is kinda like walmart but not so crappy and theve got service models with gear for 519 and i know a place with a used one for 425 its been recoated in np3 seems to function nice if your willing to pay the shipping and stuff im sure thell ship it there you could get a xd 40 service for about 470 depending on the dealer you had it shipped to. but deffinately check places like gunbroker - i sold my gun - maybe even impact guns

and always check the trading post theres tons of good deals in there

Holy crapoly! Fredmeyers sells handguns? I didn't know that. Do all Fredmeyers sell handguns? Long guns too? In Washington State, there are Fredmeyer stores. I wonder if they sell guns there?

Sorry, I don't mean to derail this thread, just found this surprising in a good way.
