Barsto magwell ??

i have pretty much settled on the Barsto magwell, for the moment. what mag extensions are compatible? i have read that Arredondo extensions are not, what about NHO? also, does Barsto make mag extensions or just slam pads? i did a search but just ended up with more questions. thanks.

I spoke with Irv yesterday and right now they just work with their slam pads, but he says he is going he is going to make an exteneded capacity pad. He pretty much scrapped the idea of making them work with the Arrendondo pads.

That's consistent with my experience. Factory, NHO, and Arredondo do not work with the Barsto magwell. Similarly, Factory, Barsto, and Arredondo do not work with the NHO magwell.

Just for reference, the NHO is on my XD40 and the Barsto is sitting on my workbench - and the reason is not coincidence.

Actually, I know of a few that have shaved some plastic and got the Arredondo's to work with the NHO magwells. Let us also remember that the Pearce +2 Extensions work with the NHO magwell and are a viable option if you want to shoot L10 and don't want to invest in the NHO basepads.

I was working on that a while back (before the NHO basepads became available), but I ran short on both time and patience. While it can be done, it is certainly easier to buy the NHO basepads.

Easier and cleaner. The NHO pads have been flawless for me; Tom did a nice job with them. What do you think?

No issues functionally with 40 loaded up to 15, although I am looking to see if I can find a HKS model that works with the mags with the basepads in place. The only thing on the down side that I have noticed is that the latch tends to drift downward in the dovetail - which is something that a little adhesive can fix.
