Arrendos basepad tip for dummies like me
Well someone else posted this down in another thread so I can't take credit but for those of you who are having trouble getting that last extra round in be sure you put the little plastic thingie (Scott, or someone else who is far wiser help me out here with the name of the piece) that goes between the basepad and the spring in the correct way. Not having taken mags apart much I thought that the bump on the plastic piece should point down towards the basepad and kind of fit in the hole in the basepad. Doing this I could only get 15 in the mag without the mag refusing to seat in the pistol. I flipped it over and ran the bottom of the spring through the small hoop on the plastic which put the bump facing upwards and oh yeah, baby....16 in all of the mags.
I know this is probably just useful for a few of us newbies/non-mechanicaly inclined but what the heck!

Another trick is to forget the locking plate all together. The extensions have little tabs that snap on when they are slid onto the magazine tube rails.

OS is right, that worked even better. I will say though to hang onto the locking tabs. As the springs get fatigued a bit you can put the tabs back in. You will notice the springs getting too weak when the slide fails to slidelock after the last round is fired. If you ignore this warning sign the pistol will start failing to completely feed the last round of the magazine and jam quite nicely with the bullet laying up against the feed ramp with the nose in the chamber. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REUSE THE JAMMED ROUND. The case is almost always creased pretty severly and Glock kind of things could happen if you tried to fire the round.
