While doing a press check I noticed something
I was doing a press check on my XD40 and when I let go so the slide could go back forward, it stopped about 1/8 inch before it was fully forward. I pushed on it gently with with my thumb and it went back to the full forward position. If I rack the slide completly back and let go, it will go fully forward no problem but on a press check I run into that problem.
I don't know if this is of any concern but I wanted to post it up just to see if others ran into that problem. I have a glock 22 and on a press check the slide will go back to the full forward position no problem. |

Yes, remember, U don't have the full force of the spring pushing the slide back when U do that. I've seen this on other guns too.

This is what happends when you run a spring that is too light. There is not enough forward pressure. In your case, no worries. It is common but always a good idea to make sure your slide is fully forward.

How do you "Press Check" an XD?
They have a solid guide rod. I've always heard a press check was when you hooked your thumb in the trigger guard and use you index finger, placed under the barrel, to pull the slide back. Like this: ![]() http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/ayoob031207.html
