Night Sight Question

I'm planning on sending my XD 45c to either SA or SP to get a trigger job and night sights installed. Currently SA uses Trijicon and most of my guns have Trijicon night sights. SP uses TroGlo night sights. How do the TruGlos compare to the Trijicons? Do they also warranty the lamps for 12 years like Trijicon? The TroGlo website only states a 90 day warrant, but this also apply to night sights? Any info most be most appreciated. Thank You.

Cool

Not to hijack this thread but I need help choosing a sight upgrade to my
XD9 service.

Use will almost be exclusively at an indoor range. Lighting is not real bright. But still adequate. My XD is also my home defense piece. I'm open to suggestions for allroound use. Websites would be helpful too.

Thanks loads.

To be quite honest, I'm not happy at all with the latest 3 or 4 triji's that I've put on a few of my guns...nothing wrong with the tritium at night, but the dayglow white rings have been chipping (or just crumbling off really) away, for apparently no reason...just shotty work i think.

For the money that triji charges, I have a pair of cheaper meprolights that stay in perfect condition. I'm pretty sure the both use triji's tritium night sight insert, but the day sight ring has stayed in perfect condition on those mepro's (as it should)...also tru dot (if they make them for the springer) are excellent.

Do mepro's make sights for the XD? I couldn't find it on their website for supported sights.

Springer - make sure you get night sights with a white ring around the vial. otherwise it can be hard to see the dots unless its dim enough.

Johnny 5 - XD's dovetail is the same as SIGs, so you just need to get Sig mepro's of the correct height.

malkore. Are those fiber optic? What brand would be good? Know a website? Thanks much for the quick response.

From a practicality standpoint please take some lawenforcement advice. Don't bother with night sights. If you are in a fire fight you will not take too much time to aim. It boils down to point and shoot. If you take the time to aim, you are dead.

Yep, Sigs work...pretty sure Sig 226/225/228's are what i have on mine...here's a random ebay link I did a quick search to show you (i.e. I'm not affiliated with them in any way):

http://cgi.ebay.com/Meprolight-Night...QQcmdZViewItem

I'm sure cancer man is correct...however, for home defense my night sights serve two fold...I've been awakened many a night by a bang, clatter, etc...those sights help me zero in on the exact location of my gun by the bed and also, just in general - help me orient myself to the gunpoint, etc, before i go search the house (usually for a damn racoon that's ouside in the garbage cans or something )...kinda nice when you jump out of bed and are in an alert, yet disoriented mindset to have those glowing dots to help you out a little.

Dawson and Heinie both use Trijicon.

I read the following on a MidwayUSA review on Meprolight ML-11410

WARNING! These will NOT fit the XD45 or XD45 compact! You need Meprolight #11411 for the XD45 pistols... NOT the #11410
