Sell one of my XD's for a Sig?
Ok, i realize you're probably already a little torqued at my blasphemy.
Let me explain the situation. First off, my primary carry gun is an XD 9 SC and i love it. The appropriate quote would be, "You can have it when you pry it out of my cold, dead hands." Before picking that up last year, my first gun purchased was an XD 40 service. since getting the SC, the 40 has been relegated to my nightstand gun although i'd reach for the 9 first b/c it has night sites (and the .40 doesn't). i didn't even carry it this winter b/c the tucker texas heritage for the SC fits like a glove. So, the 40 has been ignored... At the gun shop near me, there is a Sig 2022 in .357 Sig, Certified Pre Owned, with night sites for $450. To be honest, Sigs fit in my hand even better than the XDs do. I've shot a sig twice (226 and 229) and both times, shot as well as i've ever shot the XD. So, i'm looking to explore a little... my first Sig plus upgrading to night site on my service sized gun. Is this a bad idea? I love XDs, always will but think it might be time for a change. thanks! |

Shoot one first... I think the Sig's are awsome weapons, just not for me.

i've shot the 226 and 229. sadly, this store doesn't have a range and the one near me that rents guns can't remember the last time it had a 2022 in stock for rental.

If you don't shoot it, sell and get one you do. I don't mind the Sig part of this, I just can't imagine wanting a 357.

yeah... that's a bit of a drag w/ costs. i've got a conversion barrel for $175 but that starts putting me up into cost of new in .40
i definitely want to maintain some caliber variety though and not get another 9mm |

Have you considered an XD45?

this caught my eye, too:
WTS: SIG P239 .40/357sig - Ohio P239 w/ 2 barrels in trading post but kinda wanted to update my service piece, not my SC. not sure if it's worth having 2 SC (if i sell the .40) guns |

I don't think you will be disapointed in the sig....but you have to weigh what your gaining....what are you gaining? The Sig 226 I picked up last week has made me a believe in them but I usually hold on to all of my pistols and tend to save up and make a purchase instead of selling or trading one....but thats just me.
