whats up everyone! I want some feedback on this one. Just got back from camping this last weekend from a state park in AZ. We rolled in about noon saturday,set up shop, and began to relax. I have a CCW permit so after reading and research i decided it was lawfull to bring my XD-40 fitted into my Blackhawk SERPALOCK shoulder holster with two carbon fiber magazine holders each with a 12 round mag in place(very nice set up by the way very comfortable for all day carry) on the trip. When we arrived it was a little cooler, low 60's, so i had on my blue denim shirt, totally concealing my firearm. Well it warmed up a few hours later so i removed the shirt. Around 4:00pm a park rangers assistant showed up and informed me that i could not have a firearm in the park. I told the ranger that i was a permit holder and had looked up the laws before i came and that was the only reason i had brought it. The assistant had no idea what a CCW was nor the laws pertaining and said he would be back the next day to appologize or confirm this. Next morning the park manager came over to tell me that it was reported that a guy was running around camp with (and i quote) a CANNON strapped to his side and that as a rule he had talked with the other rangers and firearms are not allowed kinda like he had just made this up. I said thats fine (didnt want to start anything) and went about my business. I want to here your comments thanx.

Doesn't sound like your weapon was concealed while carrying, so you weren't using your CCW - you were open carrying.

Would have never happened if it was concealed.

I don't know about Arizona, but in Ohio, it must be concealed. Hence, the 'C' in CCW.

Not being a smarta$$, but no one should have been able to see it.

In Ohio, you can carry in state parks, just not in the restrooms or concession stands.

Open carry is 100% legal in AZ.

Unless you have open carry laws in your state, then you were wrong for even having your firearms visible to bystanders. What were you thinking?

This is kinda off topic but, what kinda shoulder rig were you sporting?

There are no signs posted and according to the arizona gun owners guide carry in state parks is ok carry in national parks is not ok

If open carry is ok, and carry in SP is ok, then you ran into an ignorant gun hating retard. Sad, but it happens. You might like to stick to ccw, because it causes less hassle.
