i have a 40 sc with the 12 round extention mag, i notice that the regular 9 round mag fits in nice and when i cock the gun the round slides smoothley into the barrle, however with the extension magazine u can tell that after you put it in ur gun the first round is not high enough so when i cock the gun the round, how can i say this, hits the bottom of the barrel and is "forced into the barrel". Has anyone noticed the same? There is no problem, it still fires but just that "forcing" action gets me worried.
any input would be helpfull |

Perhaps you need to open the lips up on the mag a bit, allowing the follower to move up.

i am not sure if that is the case, because i feel as if when i do insert the magazine it doesnt insert high enough. If i push the magazine while it is already inside a little firther up it looks better but i cannot keep it like that when i let go.

When you open the lips up, you in essence are making the magazine longer, allowing the follower to go up higher. Unless the magazine is hitting the bottom of the frame or the ejector, I am not sure what else it could.
Look at the two magazines side by side and inspect the follower to see how high the "good" mag is on the stop-notch. OS

Yep..bend them. Measure the gap between the magazine lips first. Use a pair of flat nose pliers of and adjustable wrench but something with a wide nose. Clamp down on the lip of the mag with the nose against the first crease and bent outward slightly, repeat on the opposit side. Measure the gap again and it should be slightly wider if so try it in the gun to see if the condition improves. If you bend the lips to the point they will not retain the bullets in the mag you went to far, reverse process.

yep, open up only slightly....pretty common, especially if you're using a JHP that's got a pretty pointed/squared tip...
